Desalination leaves behind waste. G0LD sees a resource.

G0LD is a Swedish cleantech startup based on Gotland, building a circular solution for desalination brine. Instead of treating it as waste, G0LD turns it into value: recovering clean water and industrial minerals from the process while capturing CO₂ along the way.

Behind it are two founders coming at the problem from different angles. Carl Hammarhjelm, CEO and co-founder, brings deep experience from large-scale industrial projects. Martin Ahlberg, CTO and co-founder, developed the original G0LD concept through his own research into combining drinking-water production with mineral recovery from Baltic Sea brine.

Two disciplines, one waste stream, and a shot at turning it into something the world actually needs.
