What if the animal industry’s biggest problem wasn’t the rules, but the breeding?
Helena Isolde Sundsgård grew up with zero connection to the animal world. She bred pedigree hamsters as a kid anyway, and dreamed of building companies. When the internet was still new, she won a competition pitching a platform called Animal.com. The idea never left her.
The road since has run through population genetics, ethology, leadership training, national team coaching in animal sport, and work with everything from wild species to school dogs.
That road leads to AnimalOOO: a species-independent platform built around BreedingOOO, a tool that strengthens animal health through genetic diversity. First customers land in Q3/Q4 2025, with scale-up on the horizon for 2026 into 2027.
AnimalOOO is the first external company to partner with Stockholm University Innovation, backed by Formas and Vinnova.
A childhood obsession, a couple of decades of hands-on expertise, and now a platform built to change how the entire animal sector treats health at the source.
